This is a co-op game with zero competitive elements or need for fair play. The developer also has no reason to ban people for such things, and I have seen no evidence of such.
While I can understand worrying about this sort of thing, I think your worry is unwarranted in this case. I personally don't think playing with more players makes for an ideal experience in most cases, but ultimately that's the sort of thing that is up to the players.
Unless you can read in a agreement that you specifically are not allowed to play with mods, you're safe. That said, if you worry that much, keep an eye out for possible changes in the agreement. That's it.
They can't ban you without a warning, and it's more likely that the creator of the mod gets the big old ban hammer and the mod is blocked from the game rather than you even noticing it on your own account. The first thing they would block, is Bepinex.
So don't worry.
The game issues no game ban at the time and I doubt very much it will in the future.
I've been using BiggerLobby since I purchased the game and see? no ban :)
