Do You Ever Close Doors?
I don't close *every* door I come across, but I will generally close doors leading to dead ends or turrets behind me as I move through the mansion / facility. This is a strategic choice, but a lot of people I've played with really seem to hate when I do this.

- If a door I know I closed earlier is now open, it helps me know a monster has gone through it and I need to be on the lookout.
- Closed doors stop Hydrogeres from getting through, which can trap them in dead ends and make escaping other enemies easier.
- Closed doors help me and my teammates know the correct way back out, which can be especially useful if staring at a Coilhead.
- Closed doors let my teammates know (at least in my mind) there might be a turret behind it and they can't just run through the doorway without looking.

I do understand the frustration; it's not always clear which direction your teammates have gone when you close doors, which can lead to people wasting time exploring dead ends you've already sealed off. I've actually tried using the paint can to show teammates which doors I've cleared behind but... the noise it makes is just absolutely awful, so I stopped using it. Hopefully that gets changed eventually, as I thought it was a pretty clever solution.

Anyone else close doors behind them? Anyone have additional arguments for me on why I should stop doing it? :D

I only close doors leading to dead ends or cleared areas, both only near the entrances where I can communicate it to teammates. It just signals unchecked areas when you're too deep in the labyrinth/progression area to communicate.

If you can't communicate why a particular door is closed, it just means other people think it's unexplored.

Given my horrible sense of direction I never close doors since it lets me know where I've explored. Exception is if a turret has line of sight out the door.
