Do incoming walkie-talkie transmissions NOT alert eyeless dogs?
I read somewhere that incoming transmissions on the walkie-talkie do not alert eyeless dogs to your position and that only sending transmissions do because you are speaking.

Can anyone confirm this?

Yep, there is no outward audio created by the walkie talkie when someone is talking to you over it, the dog is listening for sounds afterall, this way you still can get back to the ship and someone onboard can communicate with you about the dogs and not alert it to you.

However

There is a mod that allows you to always hear all walkie talkie activaties when nearby, guess what else can hear it? lol

I'm going to assume the dev on purpose designed the walkies not to be heard so people could still communicate with their team mates when enemies are nearby.

Do Forest Giants only go by sight? can you talk freely and not have it come after you? or does sound somewhat alert them?

I think only very loud sounds can alert them, while they seem to have poor hearing in general, and rely on their great sight instead.
