Then you have Read Dead Redemption 2 winning Labor of Love when it hasnt been updated in years. How did that win over something like Deep Rock Galactic?
Indeed. There is no goal or reward in the game that makes it interesting to play. This is just a pointless game for a couple of evenings.
Yes, this year all the winners are bad with the exception of Baldur's Gate - GOTY and maybe even Lethal Company deserved Better with friends, the name of the award describes the game perfectly.
It seems to me that people are just stupid and rely on the fact that “if a game on hype, it means the game is cool” and simply do not notice all its shortcomings (as in the case of Starfield).
I cant even decide if Red Dead or Starfield bothers me more, simply because Red Dead just hasnt been updated in over 3 years and Starfield was literally outdated the moment it released.
Luckily, those are only the Steam votings, they don't really matter much in the "real world". People probably voted for the games they were most familiar with.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH HOW TF DOES STARFIELD WIN MOST INNOVATIVE GAME AWARD I PLAYED THAT GAME AND IT DOES LITERALLY NOTHING NEW WHAT THE FOX
No because we all know its a popularity award and we are to mature to get a rise of such things.
Absolutely.
When I saw Baldurs Gate and Lethal Company on the list of finalists, I was worried that Lethal Company might win because of its hype at the end of the year. Fortunately, a really worthy game won.
