I know the answer to this statement is going to be
"Well don't play solo"
but in solo play, both those statements do not apply. I am PARANOID when I move around, but like I said it's always pure luck if I manage to catch one before it has B-lined.
Yes, when there are groups it's much easier, assuming people move in groups.
But from a solo perspective it's nigh impossible.
It would be nice if enemy balancing would depend on player count, so that lower groups still have a good time. The coilhead works pretty well in a group so it would be a shame if it got dumbed down more, as then group play would suffer. Difficulty needs to be dynamic, or it needs to be a setting, either one of those.
well it's a good thing it's in early access, and people can come here to express those views, eh?
My advice for coilheads would be to always close doors behind you. They seem to take a bit to open them, and the sound is an indicator of where it's coming from.
First encounter is likely a death for everyone. In terms of balance though I'd say the Coil/Bracken synergy needs looking at because that ♥♥♥♥ literally has no counterplay. Straight up.
I've also heard, although cannot confirm, that you can shovel them off of your head in solo, by picking up your shovel again after it latches onto you, and then performing a hit with it.
With that said, I think that further changes for solo players could be eventually implemented, despite the coil head not feeling overly strong in solo to me.
No wrong in making suggestions, as long as one keeps things polite.
Thanks for confirming the info
I will make sure to do that...when applicable, but the mansion buildings have a LOT of doorless, wide open areas that are prime uh "hunting"? grounds for Coil Head.
If you look around too much, you'll become the "most paranoid" player which actually increases the likely hood that you will be the Ghost Girls' target. And being in a group is also bad for the Ghost Girl because looking at her can trigger her and make her chase you, and I'm pretty sure (might be wrong about this) that teammates can trigger her, even if they aren't her target and can't see her. And of course, being in a group when you come across a Bracken is also kind of bad because he has a patience meter that fills up the more people look at him, so if you have 4 people looking at him at the same time (on accident, obviously) then that meter will fill much more rapidly than if it were only 1 person. And of course, a Coil-Head on Mansion where you don't have powered doors to trap them makes them even more troublesome.
I do honestly think that Coil-Heads having a Power Level of 2 would honestly be a fine change that wouldn't break the game's balance or make it too easy.
