How do you escape Giants?

I've been playing on Forested planets like March more frequently, and Giants have been a huge thorn in my side. They're faster than they look, they seem to be able to see me from really far away, and they one-shot kill you. How do I deal with these things??

They recently got a nerf which reduces their viewing distance and their speed, but they can still be difficult. What I like to do is:
1) if I hear one, crouch, which makes it less likely to be spotted.
2) Also, if you hear them stop walking, go back the other way. They stop walking when they target you, and if you can hide in time, they'll go back into a roaming state.
3) Finally, if one spots you and starts chasing you, drop everything and sprint back to the ship. You are faster sprinting but slower running, so you should be able to make it into the ship.

Wait a few seconds for them to go back to roaming if you want to get the stuff back, or leave.

most of the time you dont, you simply have to be near something you can hide in such as the ship, the facility, or the cabin on rend.

if you're lucky go behind trees and mountains and remain out of sight but its really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard.

Flash grenades will be best against them, or using a Radar-booster to flash them. Radar-booster requires 2 people since only a person on the ship terminal can activate its flash.
If you don't have any tools, you just have to be lucky that it doesn't see you, they see very far, so hide behind obstacles. If you encounter giants camping entrances, having a Loud Horn can attract them away to the ship.

There isn't really a way to escape them once they see you, you either have a stun tool or you're close enough to the ship/building, to increase you chances, drop everything, even if you're about to die since they also eat loot from bodies.
