Why bring politics and sexuality into a spooky game about collecting garbage?
Not including it wouldn't be homophobic, and even if they did include it, they would only appeal to a specific part of the player base.
"Forcing" (for lack of a better word) it on everyone will just spark controversy, debate, and whatnot.
It would also require very little effort game development wise.
Still missing my point. Straight pride flags aren't plastered all over the media. Companies don't brand themselves with straight pride products, and straight pride parades aren't a common practice. There is no straight pride month, and straight people aren't asserting that anyone who isn't publicly displaying their flag is blatantly bigoted.
The issue is that it's weird to expect others to publicly celebrate your sexual preferences. Because the average person doesn't have that expectation. Thus the average person is getting annoyed by the constant expectation of openly public special treatment for a specific group of people's preferences for their sexual partners. Because the average person wants equality regardless of who they sleep with.
You folks have a really bad statistical probability of not even being around in the next 5-10 years.
Make your own mods.
Because Pride month is (should) be about people being comfortable and happy with who they are, including being straight.
Companies- Companies aren't people my guy, they'll do whatever for money. If it weren't normalised as it is now, companies would not dare to plaster themselves with Pride in fear of losing money. If you're relying on companies for pride related stuff then you're about to get hit with the cold hard truth that they don't care and most only do pride stuff in their games to profit of it, sickening really but that's how it is. Ruin game characters with an out of nowhere "They are gay now." No struggles no nothing just stamp 'em.
Heck, as an example during Pride month companies will plaster rainblow flags- unless they're in certain regions like China in which they don't show pride stuff because they follow money.
Honestly, I do not give a ♥♥♥♥ about Pride month, which someone will probably call me a homophobic homosexual for it, really pride is meant to be celebrated coz of the hardship and time it took to get to where we are now where marriage isn't just between a man and a woman but can be with same genders and all that, everyone should be comfortable as they are who they are... Within reason. (And I only say that coz I don't support ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.)
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the LGBT community is just gradually getting more and more toxic and I don't like it.
Because no one needs that stupid ♥♥♥♥ in their space alien game
