Experimentation isn't easy because it's a B, it's easy because it has a power cap of 4 and is heavily weighted towards spawning weak enemies over strong ones (and it's quite oddly overrated).
Dine and Titan aren't hard because they're S or S+, they're hard because they have power caps of 15 and 18, wide enemy variety, good odds for dangerous enemies, and chances for high trap concentrations (and Titan was buffed in this regard w/out the hazard designation changing; it was always S+ because the grade is arbitrary, it just means "this is a really hard moon").
I would not trust Fandom for much of anything, it is not very well curated, unfortunately.
Tier 3 Moons for example, the "easiest" one of them is A level, the next one that's slightly more expensive is S, and Titan is S+ (which is fairly accurate as Titan is the hardest moon to play on).
the monsters are exactly the same across all the maps, where some will only spawn on set maps, they don't get harder at all, whats makes them harder is the eclipse, the game works on a time based spawn rate, you might only see 2 monsters inside, then 2 more spawn at 12pm, and 2 more at 2pm etc - eclipses ignore this and lets all monsters spawn from the get go - i would say the difficulty of a moon is based on weather effect, not its level.
so yeah, for me atleast it just means you'll find less loot at D, and more at A and maximum at S+
There really is no point in going to any moon thats less than B for solo play, and this value doesn't matter if you're playing with friends.
