Is the game worth it?
Should I get this game? For most people its cheap $10 price is an immediate yes but I'm broke ash (I'm 15 so yk) and I don't have a ton of people to play with. I mean I have 1 guy who ik is probably getting it, and ik some other people who might, but most of my friends only have a console or dont play videogames so I feel like if I do get the game I won't be able to enjoy it since I don't have a large group of pc friends

At least 1, the game supports up to 4 total, though you can get mods to play with more, and I don't play with randoms so im not 100% sure but the game has lobbies you can pick to play with people, and it seems to always have a ton of people.

How long does the game last? That is to say, how long can I play the game before I run out of content and everything gets stale. Are there a lot of big updates, or a lot of content, or

Content wise you can mod the game, meanwhile stuff like phasmaphobia which is of a similar vein can't be modded.

If you do not have at least 2 friends who are willing to consistently play this with you I would either wishlist & wait, or mod the game to accommodate your lower group count.

Can I random queue and hows the community if so? Ion really like games that are js filled with basement-dwellers (no offense to them) who have never gone outside. But if it's mostly people who js play games for occasional fun then it'd be worth it

you can random queue, but it’s less of a queue and more of finding a server to join directly. and gonna be honest, there are some real weirdos in the random lobbies. i’d suggest looking for random lobbies that are friendly towards new players (they exist). any other server that isn’t a blatant red flag has 50/50 chance of being normal (in my experience).

It's pretty friendly to new players, and there are some servers that are labeled (some will say new player friendly, some will say they prefer experienced players). My first host was a newb squad dedicated to screwing up so we could learn the game. I've joined with some skilled crews and they were happy to teach me things - especially now, the game's still so new that a lot of experienced people only learned what they know in the last few weeks. Patches are frequent, so we're all relearning bits of the game when those drop, too.

If you're new in a more experienced group, try to limit your role and support others at first. It's pretty easy to pick most things up, and once you understand the basics, you can ask about more fiddly stuff. Don't get angry when your character dies, it'll happen a lot to everybody.

The game's stacked against players on purpose, which makes for an everybody's-in-this-together vibe. Some of the best times you'll have will be complete team wipes where you're laughing at how ridiculous and over-the-top things got.

I've joined a bunch of random servers and still haven't had an experience where anyone was angry at someone else for dying early or screwing up. Most of the time, it's just something we all laugh about. The forum seems to be a lot more toxic than the game itself, or I'm getting extremely lucky with the groups I'm joining. I've avoided chat-heavy multiplayer for a few years because of toxic players, but this drew me in. So far, most people I've met in this have been pretty goofy and laid back.

Honestly this is the funnest game I've played in a long time I've almost got 100 hours into it already. It's great with friends and it's great with randoms. Most people are friendly and eager to help and explain things to you. I'd suggest watching someone like Insym play for a bit to get an idea.

Personally, I have had some of the most outlandishly fun times with randoms on this game. Every game is different and everyone is at different levels so the outcomes can be outright hilarious. I wouldn't hesitate to get this even if you can only play with random people. If you get a troll or someone annoying just move on and play another server. And, more often than not you are going to find yourself trolled by the game more than the players.

I'll probably buy it if I get the money, but I'll definitely let you all know

You've definitely sold me on the community being chill, so I guess thats less of a worry now. Whats the playtime like tho

heck yeah it's worth it, honestly I was sceptical at first, but after playing for a while i was having fun. My gawd, one map I had to literally walk alone in the dark, find one measly scrap to make quota and some how stumble my way out of the dark and make it back to the ship. I was on edge the entire time wondering what the hell was stumbling in the dark with me(just one of the bugs thankfully) but I was worried braken was around
