Anyone Else Feel Like Giants Ruin the Experience?
Even *with* the nerf, I feel like with their pinpoint vision, infinite sprint chase speed, and the ability to grab you through the catwalks of the ship makes them just not fun to play against.

I'm not sure if you can kill them, but they're probably the single most annoying entity that I'd rather just not have to deal with.

This is the Early Access experience! There's so much room for improvement its actually really insane. But right now Mods are the only way to make them much less of an issue. Esp solo. Or just leave before 4pm(boring).

I understand a lot of people want a Vanilla experience. But you will have a lot of issues unless you roll with friends.

Prior to getting caught you can hold a stun grenade, arm it and once it grabs you, you'll stun it.

Thanks for the tips. I understand it's Early Access and I love this game - Giants are just big jerks lmao. I'll try to keep one on me when the big bois come out.

Giants indeed have a very little counterplay. They camp your ship all the time, and the only consistent tactics is to sacrifice somebody who already dropped the loot to allow the rest to enter.

Not really much skill involved. If you get chased, there are not many ways to lose track of it outside of escaping to the ship or an entrance. If you do either of the latter two, that giant will then indefinitely camp that spot.

You kind of need a teleporter to deal with them, which is a bit expensive and involved for an outside enemy.

I normally just avoid them and like hide behind trees, just don't get grabbed?
it's really not that hard

It's easy to hide, but they're few counter play once chased.

One is using radar booster's flash, but you need a friend in the ship. It can infinitvely save you from giant grab.

Second, like said, is the flash bang way.

A third that I do is, if you're in a ship and your friend need to come, I climb to the ship's roof and get the giant attention toward the opposite of the ship. As long you don't linger in the border it can't grab, if there 2 giant tho there no way to avoid being grab this way.

With the nerf, I feel like it's much slower when it start chasing, or easier to distance a bit, try to get line of sight blocked while you run away, like a tree, the giant will stumble a bit around to spot you again, saving time and distance a bit.

Thank you for the additional tips. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one frustrated by the big thumpy bois.

I think the main problem is that their weakness "Can't get you under objects" is not explored enough, there are not many places to hide under to rest and run inbetween.

Yeah that or their eyesight & toddlerlike nature also not being taken advantage of what with laser pointers & other monsters not distracting them (lasers should also blind them imo).

I would even opt for the Tree Giant to work like a Trex cliche & just ignore you if you stop moving.

Also want to add to this that they should let us kill the tree giants imo.

If I recall from their code, if they are LOOKING and you're not moving and are crouched they won't "see" you.

But it kind of works like a stealth mechanic where moving and standing makes you faster to spot especially if distance is close and at a certain point they'll investigate.

Best thing to say as well is to abuse objects like trees if it's chasing you, since it has a bigger hitbox so it has to go around more compared to the player.

I'd rather deal with Dogs or the worm then giants in all honesty, they're just annoying.
