CPU hog?
This game seems to be using my CPU like crazy, and it increases with framerate. Never had a game that uses CPU this much, especially with graphics and gameplay this simple. Bit confused at that.

The more frames any game uses, the more cpu it needs, and in alot of cases, the more frames without adequaty cooling also makes your CPU run hot (assuming this is what you're talking about), I also advice just capping frames on 80. Unity engine has always been CPU heavy.

I've had to cap the game at 30fps otherwise my CPU nearly reaches over 80C. I have this issue with exactly zero other games and I'm not really sure what it is about this game that does it.

I've tried setting my desktop resolution lower to help too but that seems to do nothing. I can't set the resolution in game. I would have assumed that resolution would play a role if framerate did, too.

What CPU ddo you have?

Sounds like your computer is not using your GPU to run the game at all, which is a rather common issue for some people for some reason.

The only issue I ever had with my CPU in this game is when a ship land and the game load, and even then only on Titan (as I assume it is the biggest map with the most items and monsters to be loaded in when you start). It is likely due to the fact that the game is not capping CPU usage on game initiation.

The game runs just fine on my Ryzen 5 3600 that is almost 5 years old. I'm getting 15-20% cpu usage. Try using 60Hz and turn v-sync on.

Yeah this is what I was thinking, too. I have an i7 10700KF, which I believe has integrated graphics. I thought that might be related but given it's apparently common, according to you, it may just be a game issue.

If that's indeed what is happening then it is not a game issue at all. Do you not have a dedicated graphic card? Onboard graphics always suck balls.

If you indeed have a dedicated graphic card then you have to make sure your OS is using it to run the game instead of the onboard one.

I have a dedicated GPU and it uses 30% of it during run time. It just also uses my CPU a lot.

What he's talking about is only a laptop issue.

Laptop run both gpus (Onboard/discreet) at the same time.

PC's do not.
