What's actually funny is convincing three interns that the fire exit is just down the river. 😂

I can't be the only one who thinks it's annoying when randoms kill you because they think it's funny.

Looks the same to me tbh. If its a one off thing or between friends, thats one thing. When its any given set of randoms, its ♥♥♥♥ behavior.

Trolling is best done when you are messing with someone new or when you try to scare someone by tricking them. Preferably trolling should not result in them all dying but one dying if it is funny to everyone is borderline ok.

Honestly I do troll around in this game a bit, like one time I was moving the teleporter around and putting it in storage from a friend trying to place it in a good spot, The whole ordeal was like a Turkish Ice Cream Man. Though usually my trolling would only go as far as having the ship leave early, straight up murdering the whole team like in the first gif is just steps into it being just more of a ♥♥♥♥ move. Though convincing a group of new players to do something that results in them all dying is funny.

Like with any humour, there's a standard you have to meet to be funny.

If your humour is just shouting the N word in a crowded place, you're not funny, you're just a ♥♥♥♥. Similarly, if your humour is just killing everyone and ruining their game, you're not funny, you're just a ♥♥♥♥.

Telling a noob that the Scavenger Bugs are friendly and that they're bringing you items, is hilarious when they grab the item and get attacked. Plus, they'll only fall for it once and they'll learn that taking the bug's items will enrage it. Like how the shop grabbing you is hilarious and unexpected the first time it happens.
Telling a player they can pick up mines if they stand on top of it and defuse it would also be pretty funny.

Essentially, there has to be some level of complexity to the joke. It's not killing someone that's funny, it's tricking them into doing something stupid so they can laugh at how stupid they were.
The opposite is also true, telling someone the jetpack explodes if you hold it down too long and then them flying into the ship ceiling and exploding it isn't very funny, it's just intentionally breaking expensive equipment. However, someone going on a joyride with the jetpack, having a great time and exploding unexpectedly is hilarious.

The more complex the joke and the more of it that the 'victim' is responsible for, the funnier the joke is. The randomness and unexpectedness of the consequence also adds to the humour.
So something super basic like just killing everyone and ruining the game isn't funny because it's not complex at all, the victims did nothing to be put in that situation and the consequences aren't unexpected or random.

On the same line of thought, don't just troll. Play the game and troll occasionally. The unexpected and random moments of trolling will be far funnier and far less irritating to everyone than if you're just getting in the way of them enjoying the game.

You're right in a sense. If you're someone with awful taste that enjoys staring at blank walls, hey, enjoy yourself. The problem is when your extremely poor sense of humour affects the enjoyment of others. Just because I go out in public doesn't mean I'm willing to hear someone shout the N word. Similarly, just because I host a public lobby doesn't mean I'm willing to have someone ruin my game. So maybe consider being a decent human being and not inflicting your bad sense of humour on unwilling participants.

Arguing subjectivity is kinda stupid, honestly. It's a very popular modern argument to try to shut people down but frankly there's a limit to subjectivity. You can subjectively believe that murder is justified. You're obviously not right though. The same goes for griefing.

It didn't piss me off that much since we can always just hit ALT+F4 or exit the game and restart the day. It's just annoying. Trolls end up wasting their own time and getting kicked out of every server and then complain that the game sucks.
