Not able to use text chat

I have legit tried every single key on my keyboard while in a lobby and noting let me type in text chat, also tried the holding down alt while doing it fix I saw elsewhere and nothing worked, Am I just being dumb or something? No key is working.

/ is for text
if thats doesnt work, i suggest a reinstall or removing of mods if you have them also you cant type when dead tho

Do you have any axillary things plugged in (like controller)? It could be messing with your keybinds. Also what the other dude said, mod loader could be a factor.

I managed to fix it by removing my mods, going in game and typing something, then readding them back, seems to work fine now.

I still have that problem to be honest. I use a german keyboard and I tried everything you did too (deinstalling mods/game and reinstalling) and my forward slash is on the number 7 (not number pad) and I usually use the command shift 7 to create the forward slash /. But for some reason I cant use it ingame to access the chat. Could anyone please help me.

I didn't work for me neither but you just have to change keybinds just scroll down at keybinds setting and it will be there i changed the thing to enter and it works

If you don't have an american/english keyboard it would be the key to the left of Right Shift
