Mic Echo

My microphone never echos but in this game it echos through my friend even when his mic is muted. Any fix for this its a very weird bug.

If he's muted...and it's still echoing from him...it's not echoing from him.

If his mic is muted....how could sound be transmitting from YOUR mic...to HIS mic...back to your ears?

The issue must be on your end. That is; it's not your friend. You're hearing an echo from your mic, maybe because you have the wrong microphone selected in the settings? Or in the device settings for your microphone you have it set to playback audio or something? idk.

I'm watching some friends play and everyone is muted and defeaned in discord, and all wearing headphones, and it's still happening. The game's got some kind of weird audio routing bug that evidently hasn't been fixed still.

Not related to topic but my headset mic doesn't work normally in the game. It seems like the game tune my mic level so LOW that I had to literally scream or move it closer to my mouth. So I had to buy a new mic which strangely solved my problem..

its an issue with the game, idk what is is but a TON of people have echo issues.

I would suggest a mic issue, but it can be worth checking your audio settings to make sure you don't have any devices set to listen. Turning off steam overlay, nvidia overlay and all that jazz is also a common fix for these things.

He technically COULD have a setup where his audio output is being looped back to the microphone. And he only muted his physical mic with a button on the cable or something like that.

I used that to play soundclips in PUBG before i found out there are actually tools that let you play specific sounds over your mic to other players, and not ALL of your sounds.

Playing Dragula Hot Rod Herman remix and slowly driving past other squads in PUBG, who don't even shoot you and just go "Woooooh!" "Yeaaaaah!"... Good times!
