EDIT: It's a condenser mic that needs phantom power, so plugging into the mic port isn't an option.
I came across this thread while trying to fix my own issue. My mic was not working in Team Fortress 2. I too own a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and am using a condenser mic.
In my case, my audio interface is configured to produce two channels of audio at 16bit 44.1khz. I discovered the reason it was not working was that Team Fortress 2 only uses audio from the left channel, while the mic I was using was plugged into the right channel input.
Perhaps the same is true of this game. Hopefully that helps you or anyone else who finds this thread.
Thank you so much! I've been having trouble with getting my Scarlett Solo set-up with Garry's Mod, and Lethal Company but this worked perfectly for me!
Hey there, I have the same probelm. My microphone only uses the right channel, and if Lethal Company only uses the left one like you said, using the left channel of my microphone should work. So I have a dumb question : how do you switch the channel ?
You can configure your sound hardware in Windows so it actually only produces a mono signal, in which case both channels on your preamp will be combined into one. But that's up to you.
You are the GOAT. I couldn't play this game with my group of friends for almost a week and I was the most excited, I felt like I did everything under the sun and got so frustrated but I didn't think to just switch my mic over to the other port.. Thank you so much!!!
Focusrite user here, confirming this was the issue. If you have Focusrite's Control software installed, then open preferences on it and check "combine input 1 and input 2" and that fixed it for me.
