you do realize you're just you on a ship in space, collecting scrap, right? you wouldn't be able to kill a damn thing that spawns in this game. The fact you can beat a thumper with a shovel is honestly a game flaw.

The point isn't killing.
You're the bottom of the food chain in this game. You play someone who is likely a convict, indentured servant, or down-on-their-luck scrub who needed to work for "The Company" to pay off a debt or make some money.

If you want to play a jacked, high octane, murder machine go play Call of Duty or Doom or something. This is not that.

Get better I can solo a thumper feet on the ground. and most things you can kill you can just sit on a railing and they can't hurt you while you kill them

its part of the game to learn how the enemies work and to play around them. you are not expected to survive without proper knowledge. therfore scan those critters and read the info on your computer. improvise, adapt, overcome.

That's not the point- you're trying to EVADE the monsters, not kill them. There's a reason they don't give you much in the form of actual weapons. It's meant to be a last resort for if there's truly NO other option. It's not supposed to be your first instinct like it may be in other games.

This is the point of the game. You don't hunt them, you are hunted. Monsters should be even stronger

the only really overpowered monster of any type rn has to be the giants, honestly. They just need some tuning to losing LoS and wander range; but most others can be killed (there are exceptions). I'd argue that killing them isn't unintentional, nor is it a flaw of any kind. In fact it amplifies things a bit, where other games that disallow killing threats at all fall flat for it, this one has you ask yourself "can I risk it" instead
