There should be a flashlight item that doesn't take an inventory slot
I completely understand why flashlight takes one of the precious and limited slots, it helps you see in many of the dark places you'll encounter when playing this game and basically this is a choice for you to either be able to get one more thing out of facility or see the upcoming dangers better and sooner.

But due to the basically unlimited and short cooldown scan mechanic, the problem it creates is that sooner or later everybody drops the idea of having a flashlight because combining it with self defense means you have 50% less capacity at any given moment, and while I think weapon taking up the slot is a very fair trade considering there's basically no other self defense option, I don't think it works with the flashlight when we have the scan.

The "meta" to play this game right now is to just walk in complete darkness and spam RMB so you can actually see every 1 to 2 seconds, and while I personally already got used to it by playing this way, it feels cheesy tbh and imo is really bad to watch looking back at my VODs and other's people gameplay.

Obviously that's your game and you shall do whatever you want to do with it, but I really doubt you guys intended to have a gameplay being revolved around stumbling in the darkness and spamming the scan. So here's my suggestion:

I think scan should have a much longer cooldown, something like 10 seconds so it would actually discourage people from spamming the button and actually start using it as a scanning tool when walking into a new room or when encountering a new creature. To compensate for that I think there should be somewhat affordable flashlight that doesn't take a slot in your inventory. My idea would be to add two head mounted flashlights, one that has a very weak battery and costs about 50-60 credits, the other one that would be much more expensive like 300 creds but had a battery comparable to pro flashlight. This way you still keep the idea of the flashlight trade off for the cheaper choices, but the efficient folks get to pick a flashlight that allows them to get more gear out and an option to actually see when doing so.

Maybe additional equipment slots could be added? 1 for a head lamp and then some other slots for other types of worn equipment?
