cant invite my friends

i cant seem to invite my friends , can someone please explain why?

If you already started the mission, the invite friends button is grayed out. You have to re-host and then invite, then you can start the mission with all your friends.

thats stupid, rehosting gets rid of all my items

It usually doesnt get rid of your items, if you are in orbit or already saved it will save whatever you last had.

If there is a bug causing that to happen it should be fixed.

but I restart the lobby all the time to fill the team up and have never lost items, they all stay on the ship. Make sure you are all inside the ship when you exit the lobby as whatever you're holding will be on the ground where you're standing.

I'm actually having a serious bug about it. I can't use the invite friends button nor the profile button next to the username. I can click it but nothing happens. Can anyone tell me why could this be happening?

Be sure to enable steam overlay.

TRY THIS. Have the game loaded up already in the background be on the main menu. have your friend invite you on steam. join the invite with game already pre loaded in background

I'm having the same problem about not being able to join a friend online OR LAN. After clicking on invite, it just takes me to the main game and I have no way of joining.
