Lethal Company

Lethal Company

This game is on a short fuse.
This is probably just another game created by a small dev team (in this case one guy which is quite impressive) that gets major hype from social media and streaming platforms however will likely die within the following few weeks as it struggles to maintain current playerbase with the lack of replay value and the demand for more content needed to be pushed out to satisfy old players. Or it could be in Battlebits case an uprise in cheaters that the Battlebit team struggled to get rid of and thus losing a mass amount of players. Theres only so much you can do in this game that I wish there was something that could be done to make this game be playable through Christmas as that's when I'm assuming this game will go on sale from steep decline or a smart move from the developer to get people to play this game during the holidays.

i hope this game plays out like phasmophobia where it starts off kinda choppy but more content gets added and more purpose for the game is created.

This seems familiar..

If you just want the game when it's on sale, wishlist it.

If you're fishing for steam points, keep this in a word doc and try to get it on the first page of an update post; it's only gonna get buried here.

I understand what you're saying and agree with your first point, but this is a closed co-op experience. Cheating will never be an issue and shouldn't be an issue in a game like this. If someone griefs, the host can kick them.

I don't think this game is going to die, it has a ton of replay value even if it has little content. Look at games like L4D2, that game in terms of "Content" honestly has very little. You could play that game for 4 hours and see everything it has to offer, yet its still extremely popular. People say its because of mods but all mods do is change things cosmetically, unless you download maps. People wouldn't be playing the game still to this degree if the base gameplay wasn't as replayable as it is. I feel like its the exact same with Lethal company, its basis allows for a ton of replayability. This game is most likely going to be popular for the next few years at least.

lol comparing lethal company to battlebit XD i cant, might as well compare it to minecraft. Two of the most different style games and trying to throw in that cheaters are gonna be a problem in a PVE style game.

I've seen people compare Lethal Company to Left 4 Dead and that is such an awful comparison to make. Lethal Company is more like Phasmophobia and Deep Rock Galactic. Unless you count carrying the gnome out every single mission.

Left 4 Dead has a really impressive "Game director" that keeps things fresh. This is one of the reasons for Back 4 Blood is utterly awful because it doesn't have this director or anything remotely close. Then there's all the small details in Left 4 Dead that other co-op survival games simply don't bother with. That's why Left 4 Dead is the king in its genre.

To say Left 4 Dead has very little content, is a travesty.

This game is already leaps better than Phasmo in nearly every category. Especially after Phasmos progression overhaul that game is going in the wrong direction.

Lethal needs to refine it's environments, add in a few different game modes, and fine tune it's monsters. Once that's done this title will have everything it needs to become a more well rounded, and diverse than Phasmo can ever dream of being.

what the game needs is more unique environments, more incitement to go to eclipse moons and much more. If the game ends up giving you ton of customization such as longer quotas or more days then it'll be a blast.

Bold if you to say to a game that's still under development. Honestly for me its fun af especially you playing it with friends. Currently have 50+ hours to the game (and counting). Still waiting for the game to add the main story and also the mods in this game are also good. But I do want to say that the game needs to add more unique environments.

left 4 dead has about 3-4 hours of content and about 100 hours of replayability

So far, the game is super fun but there can definitely be tweaks and changes to certain things about it.

It's a game that has amazing potential because of how simple it is. Mods could 'improve' it but I think the Devs can do more before letting the community really take hold of it.

Right now, I know you can farm cash via Titan and with an easy method at that. AND you can bypass some, if not most, monsters by standing on rails. They should fix that BUT in return, add more content so people don't feel like the 'fun' was taken away.

In reality, the only thing the devs can do to mess it up is get too ambitious with development.

Whether it's fundamental changes to the game that take away from the spirit of its original design and/or NOT adding new content at all, are the only ways the game can become less relevant.

And so the content doesn't have to be excessive to 'keep up' with competitors but content that feels like there was effort placed therefore, meaningful when it's implemented and not just a last minute attempt at keeping the game alive for a few extra paychecks.

In all, I love the game and hope to see it continue on. It don't expect the game to have replayable that lasts for decades per se but instead a game that people can still mention a decade from now.
