It's also not just flipping a switch and calling it a day. It means testing and modification/additions to the current system. Monster ideas, if good, better the game for everyone--all 100,000 concurrent players. I think you can see now why people don't care about something that doesn't impact them and takes away from the things that would
Seriously, just use the in-game options or external software to modify sound to your liking. I hate not being able to rebind keys but would prefer a new item/monster over that, and there's other ways for me to rebind keys
Context: my role is the ground team leader, we go into the complex and im the only person with walkie talkie. Our mission control (mc from now on) ofc has a walkie talkie too and he is obviously in the ship. So when we go around the corridors i have to listen to my surroundings, mc, look after my team, keep track of time, etc. My teammates, as i understand, don't know when mc says something and because of that speak to me at the same time as mc, but since im listening actively to mc i can’t answer them and they think im kinda ignoring them
So if i could show them that im focused on mc rn that would be nice thing
Ofc this feature wont be ground breaking, i already can moderately handle all those things I’ve mentioned before, but little details like this one do matter, they give sense that the game a lot of depth to it, as well as, indicating how much effort and passion was put in during development
Thanks for reading till the end
On this issue, counter suggestion. A headset that has the benefit of being better clear audio and maybe better battery life; however, when it's on all other sounds are quitter or even muted so you can only hear the people on radio (and of course it's a bit more expensive). So you're in the dark for things around you like your team or mines. additionally it has doesn't have the feature where if turned on but not in your hand you can still hear people. I know an item isn't as good a fix for you as see if you have a walkie talkie these issue are still there, but as noted you can just go turn everyone else down.
You don't need to have one on you. I've ran with groups who only used two walkies, with one being in the hands of someone at the ship...and another with one of the three exploring the facility.
In these situations, the group ran together and did incredibly well.
I've played as many games with the walkie as I have without, and it's really not that big of a deal... It's fun to have the ability to communicate even when separated, but it's not needed to be effective...as I've done perfectly fine roaming off on my own, away from my fellow employees, without the walkie.
You just need to learn when to get out before things get too sticky.
So...I can understand the sensory overload, I've literally turned my walkie off when people were spamming through such. Just don't take it...or turn it off, especially when you're around others.
They can relay you info.
Adding audio sliders isn't going to take a mountain of time away from development. Give me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ break lmfao
I certainly don't mind audio sliders, but I do think that the belief that everyone should have a walkie is somewhat misguided. In most cases, you're limiting your inventory space and it's better practice to become effective without one, rather than with.
...but sure, I wouldn't mind sliders. Not sure it'll help with the chaos too much.
You aren't entirely wrong but you're also being a massive ass to OP
Hey, can we maybe get a slider to turn down the radio?
>NOIT WOULD TAKE TOOMUCH TIME FOR THE GAME AND YOU ARE A MINORITY NOT THE MAJORITY OF PLAYERS SO BLBLBLBLBLBL JUST USE VOLUME MIXER
Or! Now bear with me cause this just might surprise some people.. OR..! an audio slider could be added, like every other game to come out in the past 23 to 24 years now?
That people with less resources, less time, less experience and so on have been more than able to implement without many issues?
If the guy making this come forward to say he's simply too busy, then it is what it is. Asking for an audio slider that is more than just the Master Volume is absolutely, positively not a big ask in 2023. Miss me with the excuses, people.
Oh and I don't think just having a radio the whole time is viable either but sometimes you gotta be able to talk to the boys.
But even for me, someone who doesn't suffer from the same problems as OP does, even I find some of the games audio to be loud as hell, and simply lowering the ENTIRE games volume as a whole, isn't what I'm looking for.
Imagine going up to someone irl who suffers from something like this and behaving this way. Dismissing their problems cause it doesn't affect you personally. Making it seem like an inconvenience to give people options.
Not a good look for these people :P
This is just some grade A gaslighting.
Jesus Christ my guy. It’s an accessiblity feature. That ‘minority’ has a disability. If it slows down the next update by a small amount, so be it. We have to inclusive for everybody’s needs
nothing more, nothing less. People like Handijordan over here are a laughable example of the other side of the extreme when it comes to people yelling about accessibility options. Like the opposite of sterling with his Elden ring video lmao.
