Are his drivers up to date? Maybe it's that, if not, maybe his cpu is so old it can't handle newer games, even if it technically could run? Idk, mine is from 2015.

My friend with a laptop from over a decade ago is able to play the game, and he can barely run League of Legends and plays games like Terraria as well with us sometimes. He lacks an SSD, but this just means he sometimes takes a few seconds longer to load into a Moon or such than we do. Your computer is better than his in most ways, though the GPU could potentially be too weak.
I recommend giving it a try, and refunding it if you can't play it within the 2 hour window.
If you gifted it to him, you can refund it. A shame he couldn't play it.
Not sure why people think he will be able to run it on a mere 520 intel. Its worse then a intel 4000 that came on board with the i7 3770k and is much much much worse then a GT 1030 even.
