Losing your stuff onboard the ship upon death
When you die the ship will leave on auto-pilot, and all the collected stuff on the ship will dissapear too. This is making it that playing solo is extremely hard to progress without losing everything that was already safely stored in the storage closet on the ship. Can this be altered?

Doesn't really make sence actually.

If you had it on your body, of course you would have lost what you had, but when it's on the ship it should be able to be saved/stored.

Going to a map on the last day possible and having your neck snapped *just like that* by a Bracken, or just misstepping 1 jump now automatically means you lost the entire quota and 3 or so days (and hours of gameplay) or running arround collecting scrap has been for nothing.

I feel like this does make sense in a way!

The game is not intended to be a solo game by design, but if you're smart you can get by with one person. This game is meant to be unforgiving!! I mean you can die by selling what else is there to say really. We all fumble on day 3 at some point, if anything there's a mod that gets rid of the penalty of death, so bam your solo experience can be more forgiving, rather than all or nothing. protect your Scrap and thank @Mom_Llama

there is a mod for this on Thunderstore Mod Manager.

While I agree that scrap on ship being lost on death is stupid and unrealistic...but the whole game doesn't really try to be realistic are they?
So if you really want to play solo there are mods for it.
From not losing scrap on death to more time to loot per day.

i find it stupid too but it's an intended mechanic

yeah, its a game that isn't too forgiving on solo player. Hence always having at least one other player even if he is a lazy good for nothing employee as the company decree. Me and bud usually dont host public server, but we know for sure this game will not just slap you in the face, but follows up with an elbow and a slam to the floor all in one single motion.

i mean, public lobbies exist for a reason. there are a lot of good people you can meet & play with through public lobbies rather than trying to solo a co-op horror game. if you really don't want to try that, just get mods, because it doesn't make sense for the game to adjust an intentionally unforgiving mechanic just to suit solo players.

The same thing applies when playing with other people. It doesn't make sense narratively.

it makes sense that the entire team died and you start the job as a different one somewhere else

You're basically going in as an entirely different crew when you get wiped like that, but with fewer days to meet a quota. It's like shoving off your work to somebody else, but a day later.

Yeah, losing scrap on the ship doesn't make sense since non-scrap remains, but it's an intended feature by the dev for gameplay purposes. It was mentioned in a different thread, back when items would also be lost upon party wipe.

The reason all items get left behind when you die is that it would be way too easy to meet the quota if all your scrap was always safe in the ship even through deaths. BUT it would make a lot less sense if you lost only the scrap and not your tools, so everything goes, which can be harsh. I could change this though; it just might be a little confusing.

I've had a partner who got incredibly jealous when I'd play with men he didn't know. So I've grown to play games like Phas, GTFO and this, solo. It makes the game so much harder but personally satisfying. Unlike my ex.

That doesn't make sense narratively as your balance is the same and the quota doesn't reset. I'm all ok with losing everything on the ship if you wipe if it resets the quota timer.
