It's a 50/50 hole. It is safe from outside monsters, but works as trap if you have no one to teleport you outside.

sometimes you can jump on ledges/corners to get out but yeah some parts are really difficult

Happened to me going down a slope, fell into a hole that i eventually got out of but the friend i was playing with initiated the autopilot so it didn't matter lol. To be fair it was a Flooded moon so i probably wouldn't have made it back anyway.

But yeah, look where you're going so it doesn't happen to you.
