Modding Lethal Company (With Instructions)

OKAY OKAY, I have been seeing people complain about little things such as “fov” and “not being able to use number keys for your item slots”. Well do I have something to tell you, moooooddddddss exist! There are mods out there for both of those reasons, and there are many more mods that are great to have. The best mods are the ones that allow more than four players.

If you would like to download Lethal Company mods, then go to this website: https://thunderstore.io/c/lethal-company

Once you are there, click on the first pinned mod called r2modman. r2modman is a mod manager that you can use for many different games. The Thunderstore.io mod manager is also an option, but it is essentially the exact same thing just with ads, so r2modman is preferred.

Once you have downloaded that, run the installer and then you should be mostly good to go.

When the mod manager is open, you should search for "Lethal Company". Make a profile for it and download whatever mods you want.

A mod that I recommend installing is MoreCompany, this allows for more peeps to join your game.

Clicking the “edit config” button will show you the mod files that you get edit.

If you want your friends to have the same mods and mod configurations as you, then go to your mod profile, go to settings, and look for something along the lines of “export code”. Once you’ve done that, a code should pop up. Copy it and send it to your friends. They will then need to copy this, go into their mod manager, and go to lethal company and hit the button that says “import/update”. From there, they can choose whether they’d like to update an existing profile with that code or create a new one. After they click one of those options, then they need to select the “from code” button. They should paste the code and hit the button and boom they’ll install all your mods including any configuration changes you made to the mods.

You are pretty much correct, and I do agree that the ads are annoying. The reason I have always used Thunderstore for Lethal Company is because I checked r2modman originally and it didn't have Lethal yet. I know that it does now, but I've already got all my mods set up and configured on the other one lol. Might swap to r2modman just because overwolf is stupid. And yeah I get tired of getting advertisements for the weirdest things. I've had r2modman for over 2 years, I used to mod the crap out of Valheim lol.

You can export profile as code in thunderstore app and import it into r2modman to quickly transfer over. or manually drag the profile folder.

how about you get some friends or use one of your 3 brain cells to join a community discord and play with the mods they have

How do you know what server mods they are using, I dont see a list of servers when browsing doesnt display what mods they are running

That's pretty much impossible, there isn't a dedicated section in Lethal Company for modded servers. Find peeps to play with on Discord or Steam somewhere.

Unless you just freshly installed it. R2Modman needs to get updated or reinstalled for Lethal Company to show up on the game list.

That's what I did. I curated a mod list and shared the file with all my friends. Its a blast with some of the QoL stuff.

If you have xbox game bar open then it might not work. Try closing xbox game bar with task manager.

You could just... make your own public lobby in that case? Why do you insist on just trying to join lobbies instead of making one yourself, if you don't want to play with people using mods?

Also fun fact: a majority of mods that are available are entirely client-sided (meaning I can have a mod that only affects me and no one else) - very few of them actually require that everyone has it installed. And even then, in those specific cases - those servers are actually sectioned off from the main public servers by default as well (mainly the BiggerLobby / MoreCompany ones).
