Mic Not Detecting
I have an SM7B plugged into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and for some reason the game refuses to get levels from it.

I can confirm that no program is taking control of the mic, the settings in-game have the interface selected, my interface is selected as the default audio device on my computer, Lethal Company has permission to use my audio inputs and is using them while I have the game running. Setting the interface as the input device for the program while in-game does not work either. I've tried both admin and normal modes. I am getting levels from my mic in all my other software while playing the game, and exclusively with both this and the other software alone. It *does* accept my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ webcam mic when i toggle over to that though. I don't see what the problem could be.

I am having the same issue with a similar set up. Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 with an SM57. Jumped through the same hoops and still nothing. Couple of my friends use either a headset mic or USB mic and no issues from them so that leads me to believe that the game may have issues with a mic through an audio interface as opposed to USB or 3.5 aux inputs

i was totally getting that feeling despite not really knowing why a USB interface would be having issues a USB mic wouldn't. I don't really watch streams but I know stuff like the 7B is popular with streamers so I wonder if any of them are having similar issues. Unity's audio is caveman ♥♥♥♥ compared to Unreal so I wouldn't doubt there's some engine issue though.

57's cash too btw, have one too

I have a 2nd Gen 2i2 and a Rode Podmic and everything works fine, but my friend has a 4th gen Scarlett Solo and that is having the same problem as the two of you in this thread. I wonder if it's something wrong with the newer generation of Scarlett interfaces or something else entirely. I haven't really seen much in the way of streamers complaining about mic issues with the game, so it's hard to pin it down.
Same here, running a SM58 through a PreSonus AudioBox interface and having mic issues.

Update: the webcam mic worked and the Index mic did not, further confirming it's likely an audio interface issue.

I used to use a 2nd (i think) gen Solo and that used a type B USB while this new one I have uses USB C. Obviously random differences but that's the least technical difference I can easily conjure

It could be a difference in the connection type from the interface to the computer since my friend plugged in his AudioTechnica ATR2100 with the USB instead of the XLR and it worked just fine

I have an Audient id4 mk2 with an sm7b too and I am having the same issue. The same thing happens with xbox game bar though so idk how to fix it.

iirc that's a USB C interface as well, which does lead me to believe that the issues is your interfaces connection type. USB B interfaces don't seem to be having any issues

same setup as OP here, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 + Shure SM7B and no levels from the mic. No idea what's up.

I solved my issue. It was unrelated to the usb port. My setup was weird and I was plugged into a wrong port on my interface.

Good to know! I'll take a look at my friends and see if that's the issue as well

Same issue , mic is working perfectly well , detects by Steam , but in games it's just not working (cs:go , lethal company) , works in pubg tho . I have Scarlett solo 2nd gen .
One thing is working for me - connecting XLR from mic directly to audio card. But I'm not satisfied with sound quality (I'm using lamb pre-amp as pre amp, so it connects with 6jack into scarlett. I don't want to unplug my mic just for a game .

as everyone else seems to be saying, probably not. the only thing i could imagine is to maybe pass your signal through some other audio program like VoiceMeeter that you then use as the game's audio input so that it doesn't have to try to detect the interface itself.

I would try this myself, but needless to say I ended up refunding given that the fact that having a working mic is kind of required to have any fun here :GGdead:

So I figured out a workaround, basically have to send your focusrite input to a mixer software then set the mixer software as the input on lethal company. I used Voicemeter it is free. Might have to update your Focusrite Control to 2 or higher.
