character progression
i think i know whats missing from lethal co

you need character progression thats meaningful. ie you can use weapons traps whatever to counter harder and harder enemies as you rank. final rank=ability to purchase then use whatever wep kills or stuns hardest creature

this way lower level players have something to accomplish

AND

making the penalty higher for dead teammates/unrecovered bodies obligates higher level players to protect/teach the newer/bad players

youd have to restrict some store items off rip for newbs

makes sense as an inter or freshie would only be able to order/use something basic

cuz those easy levels really only require a flashlight

this will also decrease any sense of overwhelming for new players

I don't think it should be stats or anything, I think you should be able to buy tech that appears in the shop and cosmetics, but nothing like "more health", "permanent flashlight" etc

I do feel like progression would add something to work towards. Maybe something slight like a utility slot that can only hold utility items and not loot. Or at the very least some visual customization that is not lost on the end of a run.

i think character progression would break the game. Matchmaking is already simplistic and straight forward BECAUSE there is no character progression. Maybe you should be allowed to unlock cosmetics or something, so others can recognize you as a veteran, but actual character improvements would only make matchmaking require a tremendous overhaul.

Is this really the type of game that needs that? Or are you just annoyed at having to rub elbows with less experienced players, because you feel like you have earned something they don't deserve? Games with inherently divisive matchmaking mechanics dilute the fun. This isn't supposed to play like Fortnite. Go home, kid.

No I agree, progression would make the game more interesting, something so the early stages of the game are less annoying.

Maybe have that as you level up you get access to more interesting tools, not saying to add a shotgun that one shots monsters but maybe more tools to help or mess around with.

The only progression I'd like to see is cosmetic. The different jumpsuits should be tied to progression and maybe add an emblem or something on your suit that depicts your rank other than just the word "Leader" or "Boss" as it currently does.

Progression makes the game meaningful beyond new content to see. The devs can introduce advancement and skill trees, and multiply replayability, or they limit themselves to content to keep people coming back.

One perk could be to sell one of your kidneys. You can only do it once, but it can save a run if can't meet quota.
