Mines reacting to monsters
hear me out on this one!

i dont want the mines to kill all the monsters when stept on (exept for two)
i want this to be more of a funny and scary thing rather then a balance change

so! what i want to happen is when a monster like coil head, thumper and jester steps on them it would stun them for a bref secend, similer to when useing a stun grenade
it wouldent effect flower man as hes light on hes feet and can just walk over them as useal
spore lizards would activly avoid them and if hit he just runs away
hoarding bug would get stunned and run back to its nest
wouldent affect ghost girl for being a ghost
only monsters who would die to the mines would be bunker spiders and snare fleas if lured to the mine or when roaming around

it would be quite scary to see a coilhead walking into one and it blows up in hes face not being faced by it and keeps chaseing you or he just speed away from the explotion stright for you
and funny when walking thro the place only to hear a big explotion to then find a dead spider who was dumb enougth to walk on a mine

I would actually like if mines could kill a Coil-Head but the player would be required to look as it happens to catch the Coil-Head in the blast radius.

The only other monster that should have interaction with mines is the Thumper. It is deaf and a very heavy creature, it would make sense for it to set them off.

nah resson i wouldent want it to kill a coil-head is to keep it as big threat and something you gotta deal with at all times for the challange

They are only a threat if you haven't seen it yet, after that a second threat needs to help kill you. Having the player actively turn their backs to it to try and kill it while also not being in the blast radius themselves is a pretty high risk scenario.

Dine is also the only planet this would actually change a coil-heads threat on. It is the only planet with mines and no hydraulic doors. Any map with Hydraulics you can just lock a Coil-Head in and remove it from play.

It would add an actual reason to bash the turrets for the 360 fire. Currently it is just a punishment for people testing if they can destroy one which is pretty lame.

killing turrets would be nice but abit op in my opinion as then there wouldent be a point of disabling them in the ship then as you could get the shovel at the begining of the game

I don't care about killing turrets, I mean that the turrets should target the enemies. It would add some interesting counterplay if you're desperate/have no weapons

I agree with this partially. I def think snare fleas and the stupid moth thingies should get shredded by it. Those two monsters quickly go from a threat in the early game to "ah crap another one of theese stupid things we dont have a shovel" annoyance super quickly.

Chiming in, just got the game. Love it.
First thing I did was try to whack a Turret with the shovel to kill it.
Obviously I died. Lesson learned.

But I'd love to be able to reprogram them (and mines) using a paid for tool to change their targets from player to monster, or player to *all*.

But make the tool somewhat unreliable and requires charge, so you need to get in close, and use it, and hope you have enough charge to complete it.
So you may end up sitting on a mine while your buddy goes back to get another hacking tool or take yours to recharge it.
But if a turret fails, it turns hostile.
*And you run*

Risk, reward, chaos and a chance to die instantly. Everything this game already has. 😅
