walkie-talkies should be mandatory
I just want to communicate with my team without wasting an inventory slot, like how Phasmophobia does it :\

good game but needs some work

It totally erases the whole aspect of how they use sound and voice in the game. The fact that it takes up a slot and has to be pulled out and used is part of the strategy of the game, part of what makes it interesting.
at least key bind for inventory slot would make the experience better, and purchasable tool belt that add 1 or 2 slot that dedicated for walkie talkie/flash light would be nice

How does the game use sound and voice? And how does a dedicated walkie-talkie button/inventory slot ruin it? Idk what you're really saying with that.

The strategy isn't pulling out the walkie-talkie, it's having someone behind on the ship to communicate with the people inside. I don't mind dropping 2 handed items to pull out the walkie-talkie, I just think everybody should have them and it shouldn't take up an inventory slot.

In before 'Professional Walkie-Talkie'
Comes with Belt Clip technology so it does not take up a inventory slot!

But that would eliminate the management aspect of
1. Choosing to buy walkie talkies (and how many) or not whilst minding budget
2. Strategically planning who should have one (guy in ship and most experienced salvager)

You will also lose a lot of the confusion and mystery that arises when someone with the walkie dies.
As it currently is, early on for economy reasons i often only get 2 walkies.
If the person inside with the walkie dies, it's up to someone else to retrieve it and inform the guy on the ship what's going on.
Without it, he'll just be watching the monitors and be left to wonder wtf is going on.

- Constant radio contact
- Red dots closing in and radio silence
- After a while of wondering someone picks up the radio and yells "HE'S DEAD THERE'S A SCARECROW THING IT SNAPPED HIS F'ING NECK"

Moments like those are golden and you'd be removing them by giving everyone constant radio access.

I do agree with all of this, so you're probably right.

Communication is a tool and this game treats it as such. Having to make a choice between communication or something else is more fun to me considering not having all the information of what's happening adds to the tension and mystery of what's happening that match.

People will just use discord anyway. Honestly don’t see a point in it being it’s own item if most friend groups are going to just ignore it.

The most fun you I have had in this game is people dying and you pulling up on the walkie-talkie and its dead silence. The second fun is only a small amount having it and you simply not knowing what is going on or what to do so you have to weigh the consequences of going in to help those without the walkie-talkie. I think they found a good balance, they are cheap and you can always fill out your entire team if you wipe with 4.

I think you're cheating yourself by not using the in-game voice. This game is a lot better if you use it.
