I'll post a link to a video, if it doesn't go through my profile should have a channel link on it.

only potential counterplay is if you bought stun grenades
in which case you may proceed to get back in the ship and leave because doing anything else is a waste of time
i fully agree OP, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck
Not perfect, but possible
"arent that bad", but in ^ that video you were stuck for quite a while and you eventually just had to drop everything and make a huge gamble. You did make it back alive barely, but it looks like you just got lucky he didnt grab you to be honest. That was also on one of the like 2 maps that have trees on them, the other maps arent nearly as fair, especially the late game 3 moons. Also, that was only one giant, half the time they spawn in pairs...
I agree that they are technically jukeable sometimes, but atleast with the way most moons are now/how powerful the giants are, they are kinda overtuned. Maybe if every other moon had more cover/shelter, or if the giants had less view distance or could be actually juked but maybe aggroed faster idk. If they ever start patrolling the entrance to the shuttle you might as well reset because you probably arent getting any major loot back if you even do manage to leave/return from the ship.
There are only a handful of maps that actually offer protection from a giant visually and even less offer protection in the event one spots you(then they usually camp you for hours).
The best strategy to deal with giants shouldn't be someone naked baiting it away and getting teleported to safety or "buy stuns". Stuns should be the 100% safety/panic option, not the only option.
Also, contrary to general belief, they are not deaf. they will investigate any sound. that's why they usually hang around the ship.
