Does the ship leave with your items if you take too long? Me and a friend had two deliveries just vanish after spending a bunch of money. Both were on the company planet.

Yes the drop pod does in fact leave after a short while. Always make sure to grab your items so you do not lose them.

we had difficulty finding an interactable section on the droppod. I would readily believe we are dumb, but is it a hatch or something?

No?
The items are just on the ground when the pod is there.
There is no interaction needed, just grab your item before it flies away.

You just gotta look in the pod's general direction and press E, then the item(s) will fall to the ground around it.

No, you DO need to interact with it, the items dont just drop by themselves.
