How many floors in a dungeon?
I keep pushing further into the grass dungeon but I just run out of space and eventually health. I got to floor 5 last time, finally stopped there since I filled up even the more rare items.

First one has 6. The rest probably follows that. Bosses are on 3rd and 6th floor.

All of the dungeons I've been in have six floors. Bosses are at 3 and 6 of each one.

I dont know why you bring in the title of this casualized mess of a game. Moonlighter was boring as hell, you did not have to manage your inventory as you could just drop unwanted items into the mirror to make money and once you reach 3rd dungeon opening the shop became pointless cause you were swimming in money from just dropping the items into the mirror inside a dungeon. Never even bothered finishing this gam, it was supposed to be a game about shop management and dungeon cralwing, was really neither since shop became pointless in second part of the game, and dungeon crawling was probably one of the most boring ones ive seen.
Also the length of the dungeons does not really matter if you only care for mats, you probably only gonna go all the way once or twice for side quests. I was on floor 5 of 1st dungeon and there are no new mats that you did not get on floor 1 and 2.

I liked it. Might not have been great when it came out either though. This game seems a bit worse as far as pacing goes.
A nice compromise would be to pull a page from Recettear's book, and let you start on the level below the last floor boss you've killed when you re-enter the dungeon.

So what are some other good shop/dungeon rougelites?

Sadly there don't seem to be many. Cuisineer :redsporeling:, Moonlighter, and (for me), the best of the bunch, Recettear: An Item Shop Tale seem to be the main ones. There's also Potionomics, which has great art/animation and a fun potion crafting game, but no dungeon diving, and no play-after-story-completion option. Hometown Story might be worth checking out as well, but I think it's 3DS/2DS only.

And diablo 1 wasn't a management game, nor a shop/restaurant game so I don't know why you are even bringing it up. Dungeons in games of this style like Moonlighter, Cult of the Lamb are made fairly short so that you can gather resources in order to expand the main part of the game, which is a management of some sort.

But in this case is not the main part, both sides are important, and you take a full day to explore as well.

I feel like the dungeons are maybe just a touch long, I feel like I probably would have done 5 floors instead of 6. Bosses on 3 and 5 is probably fine.

Oh nonono, I know that. By "the main part of the game" I meant the fact that this kind of games deferenciate themselves from other Dungeon Crawlers and Roguelites by having their mean appeal being a type of management.

Which is why I was asking that dude why he even brought Diablo 1 into this conversation when that game is just an oldschool co-op Dungeon Crawler with nothing else.

Edit: Based profile pic and background. I just bought this game and I'm already falling in love with it.
