no need to make new anims, no cost to add, possible a few tweaks to gun positions for ads involved on a per gun basis but not much else. other characters would see your body fine no changes needed.

you are right motion capture is expensive, however if you think that is a must to hire mocap teams to make anims for this game you are wrong. unreal engine marketplace has tons of mocap anims on sale for use already, and price is far cheaper than having them made. if needed that is.
but its down to the dev to choose if or not to go 1st person, i just dont see the big deal not to go that way.

1st person choice (able to switch between 1st & 3rd) is always great. Good for looting, good when trying to sneak to better get line of sight, might even help some of the melee since it can be a pain at times. Regardless, always good to have options.

1st person please. For immersion, for combat, for building. Target cursor gets blocked by character when building. I usually wont even play a third person game.

Its not really a must, just fps players making their stand regarding how uncomfortable they are with 3rd person. Some maybe just want a more controlable targeting zones (e.g.spear - so hard to land efficient headshots). Still, 3rd person should be prio - not because of 3rd vs 1st but because it was the orginal concept, so focus on stable developement. If a 1st person can be added without hindering developement of more important things, there is no issue, but if this "just 1st person for some indoor fights, or better view etc. turns (and it will at some point) into a wild rampage of threads of what all needs to be fixed in 1st person, added and etc in order for the 1st person to be functional, supporting of cries why their guns or weapons dont work (propably indoors or in similar tight places, ignoring the fact that there is a mechanic that does this on purpose), then oh god. better to ignore it and keep a stable developement.

Thing that's putting me off this is the 3rd person view. I just prefer my survival games to be in first person or at least have the option of first person.

I've been gaming since before the inception of 1st person games but i would certainly like to have a "switchable" mode. Sometimes 3rd person is better and sometimes 1st person is superior.

It really depends on your needs during the game.

I thought I'd better check if that was the only view available and I was right.

I can't play a game in third person like this one is. I'm waiting for first person before purchase. I'm surprised that it's not an option.
