Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2

Entitlement and Negitivity
Hey to all the doomers, the circus is that way, because all of you are acting like clown-shoes, entitled, sad sack buffoons, jesters, and fools.

It's early access! (you should've waited for the full release if you can't handle waiting). If it were a year later and we had like 5% more story and a few new vehicles and gadgets, then yeah you might have a point. its been a little over a month since release and you are all being more melodramatic than Oscar F'ing Wilde losing his favorite kerchief.

Games take time, throwing tantrums do nothing to move along the development of games, besides make you look like a b*tch.

"Simping for the devs" I see you say. No, just what we've gotten so far is extremely impressive for an early access game. While we're on the subject of shilling, I wouldn't be surprised if there were Changhan Kim plants here.

But whiners will whine and pleasing people on the steam forums, even highly renowned games is impossible.

have a blessed day (:

what do you think i'm doing if not waiting to see if the game will get finished or it will be twisted into a monetization abomination?
Agreed. This forum is full of posters who just plain do not make any sense. It is a constant stream of hatred.
... an oscar wilde reference. "thumbs up" emoji @noxx
I'm not saying being positive just for the sake of being positive, Just add some constructive criticism ( you know offer suggestions) if you have a idea or problem. don't just moan and say the game is ruined or dead and contribute nothing. The amount of crying and tantrums on here was insane.

Plus I think the devs pay more attention to this:

first there needs to be respect from the people you want to talk to. in this case the devs added mandatory private data gathering spyware tools to the game obviously not informing the user. once caught they still continued with a passive agression of keeping the data gathering on and hide the option to turn it off in the menu. this shows no respect for the user. if you are not convinced yet, when people still tried to do what you say they got the answer that they shoudl go play something else, this after the game being put in early access so that the team can work at the game togheter with the community.

adding constructive criticism with these people is pointless. they don't care about your constructive criticism and they said this already. instead of going to their forum wasting your time find a developer that listen to feedback, even better if is a passionate indie developer, that was a gamer like you and struggles in creating a game you like. but as always, similar with this game if they don't care about you don't give them your time.

I completely get the EULA argument. That is valid, but I think your making some big assumptions about how the devs behave towards their fans. Are you apart of their discord?

Also you come off as very hostile and unwilling to change your mind. That will get your questions/concerns thrown right in the trash. Maybe work on calmly pointing out these things, and using neutral language, less accusatory. That's how most people email and communicate in a professional manner, friendo
Talk about being entitled.... hey pot, stop calling the kettle black.

Hello 'Noxx' ,

I understand your point of view ... however:

The problem is not only the developer, but also the marketplace environment that STEAM controls..

----

STEAM Early Access marketplace environment has devolved into an ungoverned & unregulated SCAM❗

----

~94% OF STEAM EARLY ACCESS GAMES FAIL

According to Steam's official data, as of March 2023, there are currently over 15,000 games available on Early Access. However, the success rate of Early Access games is not encouraging, as only around 6% of Early Access games are actually released as full games. This indicates that the majority of Early Access games fail to meet the expectations of players. — Steve Fowler PhD USC Annenberg

In other words, the STEAM Early Access marketplace environment has become a multi-billion-dollar, Statistically Guaranteed 'LOSE-LOSE' for the unsuspecting Customer, and his or her money❗

----

Developers (all Developers), are failing miserably to properly research & develop games that their Customers want, and will enjoy❗

----

And Let's Be Honest

Game development is NOT open-ended, it never has been, and it never will be.

Therefore a Mandatory STEAM & Game Developer Public Business Plan & Timeline — on all Early Access games sold by STEAM, SHOULD BE PUBLISHED❗

If you can't publish a Game Development Business Plan & Timeline, and adhere to that plan & schedule, well then you should NOT be in the business of Game Development❗

----

I hope that Unknown Worlds Entertainment succeeds with Subnautica 2 — They certainly have the Money, Staff, Time, and Tools.

However, I am not convinced that Unknown Worlds Entertainment has the necessary Creativity, that they will need over the next 3-years & beyond.

----

In my opinion, many things about Subnautica 2 just don't make sense — Only time will tell, but currently I am Very Disappointed..

Good Luck & Regards
Look on the bright side... if people weren't here making a nuisance out of themselves, they'd just be somewhere else making a nuisance of themselves.
Devs are a bunch of political simps. Hence the female anatomy shaped island reaching into the sky and the O2 plants shaped like the male anatomy. Or did you skip that part of physical education in school? Assuming your school actually still teaches P.E. nowadays.
I find the threads WHINING about doomer threads to be more annoying than the doomer threads themselves.
You accomplished as little with this thread as they have.
Congrats

Thank you, this was very informative. This is the discourse I feel the forums are lacking.

I feel some points come from a subjective place, and don't necessarily reflect reality, but then again, I'm no expert on all Steam early access statistics. I'll trust you are correct, and I want to say I'm sorry you are disappointed.

Two examples I feel reflect Subnautica 2 situation are Satisfactory, and Factorio. I'm not quite sure Coffee Stain Studios had a "Game Development Business Plan & Timeline, and adhere to that plan & schedule." Things can be messy and still succeed. Though I understand your concern about this, I don't think it's the only answer to success. Factorio's development was also all over the place as well, but it still succeeded. I feel like Subnautica 2 is too visible to just turn out to be a scam, though I can see where you are coming from with that. We shall see, I may be eating humble pie in a few years.

I think they have enough creativity to see things through. I think that is a bit odd to include, but then again, perhaps you are seeing things I'm blind to.

Thanks again.

Kind of, not really.

was I being condescending? Yes. Sometimes, you need to be a d*ck. People should be able to write professionally if they are communicating with the devs and not just dump walls of text. I'm not sure if this is the entitled that I am pointing out that is a problem forum wide. Like dooming over games,

I'm not too worried about your opinion, sorry
OP deserves to be spammed good rewards.

Exactly.

The game is so bad, they can't stay away. The trolls are proving what a troll is.
*googles what a troll is*

Yep. Trolls.
