Will there be a Russian translation, like in your previous subnautica games?

Hello people. Im from Ukraine. But im too still waiting for russian language. Because in or country its normal - plaing russian language games.

Yeah, with so many groups of activists "supporting" Ukraine, it's odd that support hasn't extended to considering Ukrainian gamers by adding language support for them. Why, it's almost as if it's just lip service... *gasps from the audience*

Fortunately, in civilized parts of the world, such as Europe, where we have things such as free healthcare, mother leave, paid leave, sick leave and so on, we were smart enough to enact legal protections so employee cannot be fired due to holding legal opinions or expressing them.

I'm curious how you can think of thes as good things, while also having Trump all over your profile.
he despises all of that. So does his good buddy Leon Musk, as seen by his anti-worker tweets on a daily basis. Especially sick leave. Boy, they hate that one.

i don't think he's seriously a furry pro palestine trump supporter if even his comment on this thread was serious lmao. i don't think anyone who would say "europe is a civilized place because of free healthcare" would be a trump supporter. or even necessarily be "pro" palestine.

Isn't Ukranian very similar to the Russian language? Just buy the Ukraine translation!

Joking aside, we in the UK had a similar experience after the Iraq war, we were like the pariahs in Europe for a number of years, most notable was the political voting that happened in Eurovision (UK came last for many years, and often still does even now, but that could be due to us having some rubbish entries too). One saving grace for you is that English is ubiquitous and so should be relatively easy to learn, it's much more difficult for English people to learn a language from the other side of the world, or even just a few countries away (it's remarkable how similar Danish can be to English, for example).

I guess since leaving the EU, UK is still like pariahs in Europe! They're just jealous that we got out of that mess early.
Ukrainian is something between Polish and Russian + local slang, but this is a very exaggerated.

Anw, like English, Russian is one of the six international languages of the UN

In terms of buying power Russia is a relatively small market due to games being sold at a very low regional price compared to the US/Europe. As a result a result a Russian localization ususally isn't worth the ressource investment. I would recommend you brush up on your English and save yourself a lot of troubles similar to this in the future. Sincerely, a not english native speaker.

LOL
Why are other languages declared?
Because some countries have a lot more buying power than others due to regional pricing. Which means that those countries and their languages are more important than others, economically speaking.

Actually Russia in top3 of Steam after USA and China and in top5 (as I remember) of income. Also add here Russian speakers from other countries. We don't need localization with famous and expensive voice actors. Translate the interface and other text into subtitles, as was the case with the first two games. That's all, not difficult.

damn if only we gave you germans the same treatment considering your part in the worlds 2 largest modern wars Eh?

It took the Germans fifty years of peaceful co-existance with Europe to become the beer-brewing, lefty peaceniks that everyone now takes for granted.

If Russia wants the same, they have to go through the same rehabilitation process. They should be done by 2075 assuming they start now.

Not looking forward to the fanatical anti violent video game period of that, but I'll take what I can get.

I'd be very surprised if this was the case. Most Russian speakers tend to be located in countries that aren't doing too well, economically speaking. Steam sells games in Russia for like 30% of what they cost in Germany for example. So for every three copies you sell there you only need to sell one in Germany, Switzerland or Austria which is why German is almost always a selectable option. Then there's French which is spoken all over the globe and also in relatively rich countries like France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. Spanish is another must have language as is Japanese and of course Chinese.

Remember, it's all about buying power. There's a reason why for example you generally don't see Hindi as a selecteable option even though it's spoken by a billion people. Not sure what their regional pricing looks like for Steam games but Indians currently pay 1,66USD a month for netflix (with a yearly subscription plan). That means you need to sign up like 10 indian customers for 1 European or American customer.

I'm just spüitballing here though so If you have different numbers that show Russia makes up a significant portion in sales (moneywise) feel free to drop me a link. I'm always interest in learning something new.
