Report a translation problem
When that happens, you should still be able to press the "Select" button to get an option to skip the scene, but that's not great because obviously you're missing whatever is in the movie. I worked around the issue by using my Steam Deck to play through those scenes, and it doesn't have that problem. If you don't have another system you can play them on, you might try uninstalling or disabling any video codec packs you've installed to see if that helps. I haven't yet narrowed down specifically which codec is causing the issue, although if we can, that might be able to help the developers figure out how to work around it.
I tried skipping the cutscene but the black screen still occurs.
I don't have this issue if I load up one of my current save files, though.
Everything seemed to work just fine until I downloaded the 11/21 update, I believe.
I just recently decided to start a new game.^^;
Disabling fast VSync in the Nvidia control panel did help!
I would have never guessed that fast VSync was the problem here.
Very weird indeed.
