It's killing me to see this game not get much attention, because in terms of plot and gameplay, this is one of the most interesting horror games I've played in a long time. Don't be fooled by the trailer--this is not a "scare-your-pants-off" survival-horror game in the vein of Clock Tower or Resident Evil. It's more of a story-driven puzzle game that just so happens to have some existential/psychological horror baked in.

It also has an incredible sense of mood and place--it's a vibes game! The story relies on a lot of ambiguity and surrealism, is delivered via an interesting time-loop structure and stylish cutscenes, and resists final closure at the end while remaining satisfying thanks to actual character arcs. The characters are fun to talk to and have lots to say (maybe too much sometimes), and the puzzles are genuinely well-made head-scratchers.

I will say, the roaming stalker enemy wears thin pretty early on due to the AI not having many tricks up its sleeve and routinely interrupted me mid-puzzle, leading to a few annoying runbacks. However, this isn't a huge issue since the typical mechanics and gameplay loop of survival-horror games aren't the emphasis, and the game has incredibly fair shortcuts baked into the levels. Just come in with the right expectations, and this might also end up being one of your favorite horror games this year.

Homebody is a great experience. Honestly one of the best game I have played in a long time. The Horror aspect is great in the subtle way it way it is not jump-scares but very nice anxiety fear and suspense that feels much more fun.
I recommend this for it's fun humor that it sprinkles in perfectly but also has the bonus of the awkwardness of social anxiety and weird friendships that relates very well to real life while being this really amazing game.
10/10 would heavily recommend this game to anyone who finds this game even remotely interesting.
