What's the point of the hats?

Do they give extra powers? Are they just for looks? Nothing in the game has explained this yet (that I've noticed), but they've gone to the trouble of giving me shops where I can buy them so they must mean something?

How is an optional cosmetic item a flaw?
Not every item must provide stats.

I guess that the flaw is that you are never told what they are for, and significant part of the game is based around collecting them. It's a shame they don't provide some benefit however small to make it worth while.

Ages ago my friend asked for a bunny suit for Kena, but never got it. I don't want them hats, I want.. I mean my friend wants the suit outfit.
