Can't buy clothes (bug)

I just won Villager outfit in trials, it costs 100 currency, I have 2.025 currency, I press SPACE to buy the outfit but nothing happens. The item is highlighted, there is a sound of selection of the item, but the item is not bought.

Same issue.

Meanwhile rot hats are purchased simply by clicking on them, don't even have to press space. Ended up buying too many before noticing this.

You need complete the tests in the village center to unlock.

I'm a little late here, but I thought I'd post this in case anyone else is looking at this thread; I just experienced the same issue. Did a trial, unlocked an outfit and went to buy it at the hat cart, but nothing happened even though I had enough currency. I can only assume this is a glitch, because suddenly, I couldn't warp either. Closing and restarting the game fixed it for me.
