For those not sure whether to get this game or not.

This game is a true gem of a game. Not much more to say, but i'll explain.

Combat looks simple, but don't let that fool you. The boss fights can be pretty difficult. The graphics look incredible for the art style, and the soundscape is excellent.

Music is very nice as well and fits the games atmosphere.

The cinematics are pixar movie quality and will look incredible in 4k. The facial motion capture was done extremely well and speak on it's own. Which was all hand crafted. They did an excellent job.

For performance... it was incredible even at day one. I know, it's was actually shocking. A game that works day one with very few bugs and having excellent performance. On a ryzen 5600x and 3060ti i was able to get 4k 60fps on high/ultra. Only had minor dips here and there due to asset and shader loading.

There is a few side activities to do, but aside from them it is mostly linear. Game is about 10-15 hours in length. I took 19 hours but that was because i spent a lot of time exploring. The game has backtracking due to how you get abilities. Think of Metroid games. Expect puzzles, but they aren't too difficult. Just a couple may stump some people due to the solution being in a few locations not at the immediate area.

For upgrading abilities, it is pretty simple. You will need to explore and find the tiny minions. Speaking of them, the interaction with them is quite nice and memorable. That and by the end you will have around 30 of em following you haha.

Anyways, get the game. It is worth every dollar.

With 3060 you can't judge optimisation, cuz this gpu can shred any game on high/ultra FHD (4k isn't standart/regular/widespread resolution).

Is that furry companion a companion that will accompany you most of the journey or are those screenshots just a small section where you interact with that furry creature :)

What furry companion are you on about?

The first Rot you obtain will generally show you what things can be moved when you get close with your army of Rot. It will also sit on your shoulder & do a little animation when you charge/shoot an arrow. It is always with you, and you can interact with this Rot throughout the whole game.


Edit: Fixed Rot count. Looked at my original ps5 recordings and there's actually 100, not 80.

thanks for the explanation ! i cant wait to dive into the game, its gonna be my very first time playing it :D ! i have seen trailers since day 1 and a tiny bit of gameplay and the game looks gorgeous for its artistic style ^_^

Quality Milku; you solved my question. You mentioned the word Rot; then above you say "80 Rot if you 100% game" then i re read description and about the game and now it makes sense. Just couldnt put the two together at the moment of writing lol

Gutted. I saw the videos and screenshots and almost hit buy without even checking. This game looks absolutely beautiful. I cannot justify the price for the content though, even with New Game+.

Adding to wishlist as this is a definite buy on any reasonable discount.

The initial reviews said almost in unisono, that it's mediocre. Meaning in a bad way. I've failed to understand that, given how it looks. But you never know, maybe the combat would be unimpactful, maybe the RPG side would be a laugh, maybe the looting is over-the-top and also pretty useless... one never knows.

So, you are saying, that it's a marvel then? Would you be so kind as to negate the above for me :3 ?

For example, how is the exploration done? How do you upgrade / level up? Are there meaningful things to pursue other than "Bring me 10 Squishrooms, so I can call you a great Quester?"

You upgrade your attacks & Rot attacks using "Spirits", which can be earned through things like "Flower Shrines" for example.

You level up by collecting a certain amount of "Rots", up to Level 5.

There's no quests that make you go on a collect-athon, you just do things like "confront/help this spirit" or "destroy this corruption" to progress through the story.
