what are some good inner manuals that dont need sects?

im struggling to find them, i joined old man and have crap blue manuals

Old man will continue to give you some good manuals, including two purple externals, legendary internal and legendary external. A couple of fairly easy inner manuals to get that don't require a sect are the legendary prayer manual in the Linlang temple near the nameless village and the hidden weapons inner manual at the Dojo tournament in Chuxiang city.

Oh boy, you're not gonna like this, but he'll give you one AFTER you defeated ice prison, one of the hardest fights in game pre V1.0.

Some powerful moves are tied with the golden inner manual, which you'll get from ice prison.

For now, I believe you can get one from Shifa temple. But you'll need to steal all the books from the tower with Qinggong of 300 and to kill the monk guarding the sleeping quarters.

There is another gold manual(iirc) on a Go board(Chinese chess?) at linlang temple, which unlocks after getting the nameless village elder at high affinity.

I haven't tried since 1.0, but clicking on the chess board in Linlang temple puts you into a fight/puzzle that rewarded a gold inner.

Edit: I still works. Also it's a Go board, not chess.

one of the must inner if you want to beat that elder at the same place. Those reflects and his hits are deadly.

yeah i cheesed the hell out of it, each fight was like 5~7 minutes real time tho

how did you cheese it?

I posted it earlier, A Zither companion Gu Qingcheng has moves that will stall out the boss and sometimes sleep him, a spear in Wild Wolf Valley has the sealed passive which stops their ATB gauge.

Also since you are doing the fist sect questline you have some pretty broken fist skills that you can put on Jian/hua/Fu Qing.(and honestly everyone else)

Read your passives and abilities, especially in hard+
