How to recruit Miao Caidie without being hostile to melody house?

Short answer yes.

Long answer, there are even guides to explain how, and it involves a certain trick which is probably one of the most well known. The first step is of course, that you must unlock the location by knowing where it is firsthand and using your pathfinding to get there before even passing by the deserted courtyard. Then you execute famous trick to pass the guards without aggroing them allowing you to speak to Miao and work on her quest with the goal to ultimately bond her. You can then side with the Melody house, and as Miao will be safely bonded and stored into your homestead, she won't be there when her Tribe is destroyed.

It's possible. I'll tell you the way I do it.

First in the eastern city she's in the garden next to the Maiden House. Go there and talk to her and get the location of her tribe. This is a good place to give her gifts because she likes sweets and they sell those in the nearby Maiden House.

Before you go to the southwest region, recruit the leader of the herbology sect because you'll need to cure Caidie's disease.

When you reach the southwest section you need to go directly to Cadie's tribe. Don't go to the courtyard.

At her tribe there's a trick to get past the guards. Enter combat far enough away from them so they have yellow bars over their head. Then run past them with Shrimp. Then escape from combat once you've run past them with Shrimp. If you do it right you'll be inside but you'll have to do everything in one visit. You can rest at your homestead if needed. Or bring a companion that sells food.

So you need to get Caidai's opinion up so she tells you about her disease. You can do this easily in the eastern city by giving her sweets you buy in Maiden House. Otherwise let her do her bug experiment on you. her opinion raises with each experiment.

Now you need to have decent toxicology to do the next part. Also you need decent pet taming. Caidai's bug experiments will get you enough toxicology so let her do that if needed. Banish the guy at the entrance of the cave on the western side of the village and then go in. With enough toxicology you can approach the lizard and with enough pet taming you can feed it bugs. After it eats enough bugs it transforms into a different type of lizard. And it lays an egg. Pick the egg up and go back to Caidie and have your herbology sect team member cure her.

Then you can recruit her but at this point she's still a member of her tribe faction-wise. So you go with her alone (meaning drop your other party members off at your homestead so it's just you and Caidie left) and go to the big statue to the eastern side of the tribe. When you approach it with just her and you've cured her disease and her opinion's maxed you get dialogue options to choose whether to bond with her or stay friends. You need to bond with her because this removes her from her tribe's faction so when you do the Melody house stuff later she doesn't turn hostile.
