Duke Qi's order

I want to get the Duke Qi's order and am a bit stuck
I went the exam route, passed all the exams (2 in the cities and 1 in the Confucian temple), got top results in all 3, yet the Duke still doesn't want to give me the damn order.
What am i missing? Do i need to actually join the Confucian temple? Is there something else to do? Any help would be appreciated

Well once you pass all the exams you need to wander around the overworld map until you get an invitation from Duke Qi. he will then offer to give you a letter of recommendation to join Confucius. At this point you can ask for the order to pass the southwest gate.

When I got the invitation I was on the northern section of the overworld where he lives. I don't know if it's necessary to be in the northern section but that's where i was.

I had this event and accepted his recommendation, yet still he refuses to give me the order :(

It's possible it has other requirements like fame level or his opinion of you. My fame was max at the time. You can boost his opinion by joining Confucius and tattling on them to him.

So according to one of the Chinese guides--and this has worked for me--you need to win some of the tournaments in Daliang to get his order (on top of passing the exams). I believe you need to win the Earth one.
Edit: It also says you need at least 0 in relations so anything above negative should be okay.

This game is fun, but can definitely be more clear with all the requirements

WHAT EXAMS!? I can't get anywhere with this dude. There are no options for anything with this guy. Can anyone please explain these exams?

You have to match couplets with the Library guy in Chuxiang for 5 days, then he will tell you to take the exam, after passing that exam, you have to do same thing with the Teacher in the school in Daliang.

Gonna be honest, is far less work to just get strong and brute force your way pass the gate in Nameless region.

You need to accept his Hero Card when you reached Fame 5. If you refused it, you can't get the pass from him. Of course you also need to be at or above 0 Relationship with his faction to be able to talk to him.
You don't need either passes for the West Border gate. If you're strong enough to beat the Earth tier Arena and get Duke Qi's pass, you're strong enough to just use force to get past the gate.

You can still get the pass if you marry his sister by getting the piece of the seal he's after.
