How do you join the Crime Investigation Bureau?

It's my first playthrough and I'm playing it blind. I sided with Luo Quanxue from the beginning but that was the only time i actually encounter them. Never received any invite and they kick me out every time I get close to the gate. Not sure if I've done something that locked me out. I'm now lvl 70, maxed fame and half way through the nameless sect quest line now. I also maintain friendly friendship with nearly every sect/ faction, except for the Yan Yun army since I accidentally signed myself up with the Ye Battalion

This is a little tricky. Just make a detour to the very right, go beside the wall, then enter the gate by going between the back of the guard and the wall.

Since I bought the game I've only been playing on Nightmare difficulty because I like the challenge. I wasn't satisfied with the battle in the temple at the beginning, because although it wasn't reincarnation time after losing that battle (due to duex ex machina) I still wanted to win every encounter. And when I won that battle, Luo Quanxue invited me to join the Crime Investigation Bureau. Which I did.

However, seeing that you're lvl 70 I have no idea how to join later on because I'm only around lvl 20 and unfamiliar with the rest of the game. But if you reincarnate you can consider joining right from the beginning, if you can win the battle.

you have to sneak past the front guards out of their range of sight to enter. just walk a big round and u will notice there is a row of tiles just between the guards and the main door that can be accessed

Can't join any other sect if you joined the "Old Man" sect. You'll have to save the CIB for a new game! If you refuse the old man in Nameless village, Luo Quanxue will invite you to join the CIB immediately after the fight with Swallow Nest

You can leave the old man sect later in his questline. Then you can go to the other sects. It might benefit players to go through the beginning of his sect to get the external moves he gives.

First you need to be sect less. Then you also need to sneak pass.. if you go into sneak mode, you can see a gap behind them. (I started a fight and just walk last them and retreated, you lose a bit of affinity and courage that way). Once you get inside, you can join. Then you can just walk in by showing the item they give you when you join.

Hmm, I've heard this before but have never been given the option to do so. How would you do it?

When you progress far enough in his quest line, he will return to the Nameless Village, where he will be walking around the well. But he will guilt trip you into not leaving him.

Thanks everyone for answering. I could join the Ye Battalion so I thought I could join the smaller factions the same way. Guess I'll have to finish with the nameless sect quest line then join it later.. The skills from the nameless sect are so powerful it felt like a waste to pass that up when the old man first approached me 😅

As soon as you can buy things off of him with Contribution points then you can leave his sect
