You need to get the conquerer ending where you kill all the big factions and then do a final fight. Unlocks a trait at character creation where you start at level 100 with 10 fame. Downside is -100 benevolence.

There's also a trait that lets you start at level 50, for that you need to wait at the beginning then defeat the thief and all her backup.

Of course, a solid 80% of the game is SOME sort of grind.

If you have the levels you'll still have to grind for Combat and techniques (massive amounts of Int will speed that up) - and when you get bored of that, you can mix it up with a healthy dose of grinding for base stats (until you have enough achievements to start with them all at 10) and for skills (again, until you max them at least once and get a true end).

In the grand scheme of things, levels kind of come by themselves.
Unless you're REALLY getting your ass handed to you by mandatory encounters (there's not that many), stop grinding on boars and go do Cooler Things.

Once you get to 10 in all stats right of the bat then you can grind allies to 10 so far only figured out con and int grind for allies but I am sure they will add something for luck, str and dex (besides monkey) for them one day. Ofcourse for my dumb dumb goal of making the Nameless Village the strongest area in the land!

join sect = less grind especially if you join the monk, I can make all my follower level 100 in less than 30 minutes fighting the bronze formation with the Marshal Ye son(the dual hammer guy) do all the whacking, he only need 2 turn to kill them all, lol

I decided that for the needs of my battle harem team of heroes 'Benefit Equally' is enough as far as stat needs go - but while you're waiting for a way to grind their other stats you can set to maxing up their Combat at the last room of mang mountain pit.

It should only take about forever, forever and half at max.
