is there anyway to bond faster, or just stick together until the end?

you have to do all their quest line to form bond.

Equip items that boost the effectiveness of gifts. The Peony accessory in the forest by where we start boosts gift effectiveness with females by 50%. Wanderer Clothes armor boosts gifts in general.

Also if you have that beggar from Nameless Village in your party, take off his armor. It subtracts from the effectiveness of gifts.

The merchants around the Night Demon Auction have some purple quality gifts for sale. Right where you walk in there's books. Further in there's tea and sweets and ornaments and such. Some towns have merchants that sell purple gifts too, but with the night demon auction they're all right next to each other.

If you're a cheapskate you could try inviting them to party and then doing activities that match their personalty.

I'm not sure the exact trigger, but go to the temple in Chuxiang city, there should be a dialog event eventually (when you walk into the temple) with an elderly couple who give you the God of Marriage shrine location

At the shrine once you have the location, you get a brief tutorial and then you need to enter the shrine with the girl you want to bond as the ONLY character in your party besides yourself. You need 100 relations (devoted) and a marriage stone, then you play a sort of slot machine game after a brief dialog.
