What do you think is the best equipment to bring to the island the first time?

I've beat the game several times, I recently decided to start a new run and try out the DLC stuff.

I usually end up taking an axe for a lumberjack because chopping wood is such a frequent task, but once I get to mining I always wish I had chosen a pick-axe to speed that process up.

I guess I could always leave tools and go back to the mainland and grab others so it's not that big of a deal...

EDIT:
So... I guess miners don't get a bonus with sand quarries so I'm back to voting between the builder and the lumberjack.
