Why do you think positive is a negative whilst having never played the game? Too difficult to surmise your own interests?

The Remakes of the original games look a little bit better, but they're superflous in my opinion. Except the new part with the female composer (painter's wife) there is nothing new here and the lighthouse is nothing the player missed before. They should have been more focused on Silent Hill 2 instead of these senseless Remakes.

I think it's good practice for the devs. Silent Hill 2 will also use UE5 as we know. I don't agree the visuals are a little better than the originals. I think they are quite a step up, even from Layers of Fear 2. It also runs very well and the TSR implementation is excellent, better than DLSS imo although slightly costlier. It all bodes well for SH2 imo.

Mostly positive is a mediocre rating, not a bad rating, and I can personally only recommend this if you dont own the original games. It just didnt age that well. It looks great but is otherwise extremely boring
Steam ratings are NOT RATINGS, they are MARKETING. You CAN NOT RATE games. You can "recommend" games or not and every idiot who would give a game 51/100 points will rate it positive on steam. Use metacritic USERSCORES or something to get a feel what people are thinking. Do NOT take press scores seriously as the gaming press is the advertising arm for the gaming industry.

Valve knows exactly that they are doing with their fake review system that just just intentional binary. They even ♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs who release unfinished bugfests with "recently rated" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so if in the unlikely chance that any game does not get a positive review they can always patch it after release and get recommendations up, that should not be a thing at all, its just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trash devs and the typical modern habit of releasing bugged trash.

On the game, it looks absolutely stunning, big fan of Unreal Engine and this is the the first serious game that is more then just a Tech Demo that I played using it. The issue with this game is, it has no gameplay, you just walk from room to room, open doors, see "scary" events that are not scary. The main game features are story that is not that interesting, one enemy that is rather dumb and annoying to deal with. I stopped playing after the main game. I read that the DLCs and other stories are a serious dropoff from the main story. So of the main story and "gameplay" is that bad I really do not think I miss out when I never finish any of it. Its so damn nice to look at but that is it, its not a good game, you can treat it like a tech demo, it barely managed to made me finish the main story. I can not imagine playing the original with its trash graphics, when you do not even have something nice to look at this game has nothing to offer.

I did too. mostly for the setting. It made a nice change from the usual creepy old house.

Yeah, I'm in the LoF2 >>> LoF camp too. It took me by surprise how much I enjoyed it, as I wasn't a big fan of the first one.
