just started all ready stuck

can someone tell me how to get into the padlocked door. i looked at a walkthrough and showed them shooting the lock and it opened. when i shot at it nothing happened and now im out of bullets. is there another way?

Yes. There are giant bricks in the canteen you can use on most locked doors. grenades also work.

thanks the brick worked. so ive managed to get the red wheel. i also opened many rooms and have been down looks like underground. i wish there was more inventory space,i hate having to go the the room with the chest to put extra stuff there. also is there another save spot other than the lantern? i really like these games but im terrible at getting away from the mosters. i am even playing at the easy level but still keep getting killed quickly. i keep getting killed after opening the lockdown doors. i ran once and the game said i made it past my first encounter with beast but then a few minutes later it got me. i even threw a grenade at it and it looked at it and walked away and then it blew up. and then a few minutes later it came and killed me lol

Based on the experience you have, you'd benefit from unlocking the New Game+ options and start over. You can customize everything with them, including having multiple save points, and "easy" isn't the easiest. As described in the video from 1:00 onwards, go to the screen that says "New game" where you pick the difficulty, hold any button (mouse or keyboard) for ten seconds.

That unlocks it. Else you'd have to finish the game once first.

In their prior Amnesia game, you technically couldn't die. This one is different, with a pretty cool oldschool challenge vibe to it -- if you're like me into it.

ok ive made quite a bit of progress but im stuck trying to get to the man in the cell with the bolt cutters. theres a grate but i need something to open it and i cant find it. supposed to be in maintenance

well i blew the blocked tunnel. now im stuck i just dont know howto trap the monster. im guessing thats what i have to do. i ether fall into the drink or the monster gets me

you need to get to the other side of the wall.
but you can trap the monster if you want: bridges are made with wood or you can use a rabit if you have it
