And what's sad for me personally, it's likely the next game will hardly be a horror game at all. Even though SOMA is a masterpiece, it was a game that was hard to call successful. Because of its failure, they decided to move away from the horror genre altogether. Based on their interviews back then, they were preparing two games, one of which was to be a horror game, and the other was to be a strictly story-oriented game with no horror elements. Considering that nowadays Amnesia Rebirth has already been released, which is definitely a horror game, and The Bunker is a detached DLC, it seems that they have already released a horror game and now they are preparing a project that is not exactly for Penumbra, Amnesia and SOMA fans. However, the studio often changes their plans and many times the results of their work didn't match the words they said. So maybe things will change this time too.
Personally, I hope that the success of The Bunker showed them that people don't mind getting good and small experiments in between big projects.
did you really played 106 hours wow
It's mostly mods, randomizers, etc. The first playthrough took 3-4 hours, then there were several more playthroughs on different difficulties. Then I played it as much more when the Halloween update came out with Shellshock, permanent death, etc. And then I saw that there were a large number of mods released in that amount of time and immersed myself in them. So those hours were spent not exactly in the original Amnesia The Bunker.
Though I hadn't seen mods for the bunker. Is there a site for them? Dark descent has moddb iirc.
I didn't look for the sites. I mostly watched the Steam workshop and followed mod contests from developers. And then I came across the Survival mod and the game literally got a second life for me with new puzzles, random spawning and other things.
Survival mod is the only one of its kind so far. It adds puzzles, changes existing ones, changes item spawning, fuel system, adds additional difficulty settings, improves beast behavior, etc. Its upside is more variation in generation compared to the original game. But there is a slight downside. Sometimes the mod generates quite easy situations. I have played with this mod many times, sometimes it generated everything so that every location had to be explored, even areas that are poorly involved in the original game and the overall walkthrough was interesting. But sometimes it generated quite simple situations where an entire location could be left without a purpose. It's better to do a few playthroughs with it to see as many puzzle variations as possible. It's not perfect, but after it, I no longer play the original game without that mod.
Just be aware that while the mod is well balanced, it still increases the difficulty. On the customizable difficulty section in the main menu you can see all the new parameters.
it better be scary and without pregnancy themes being involved!
