Alien Isolation is in my top 10-15 games of all time so i don't mind the hunt by an unstoppable creature. But wow this ♥♥♥♥ is annoying. The gameplay itself is tedious. I opened the emergency lockdown and now its an item hunt that seems to be going nowhere while my generator is running down.
The most significant disadvantage of the game is the idiotic, absolutely implausible behavior of the monster. If instead of one cheating monster, there would be two or three monsters with honest behavior, without being tied to the player, it would be much more interesting to play.
While i commend devs for trying something new, it simply did not work out as well and it's for sure not an Amnesia game. I guess they slapped the name on and added some ghoul juice in the mix to explain how this game has something to do with the previous entries... just so it can sell better. This was such a missed opportunity to make a new IP.
I like comparing this to Alien: Isolation as both games rely on an invincible big bad guy on a map with tight spaces. Thing is, Alien worked 1000% better for various reasons that would take too long to explain and read. Bottom line is The Bunker tried a similar formula but fell short in every regard.
I would rather have an excellent 3-4hrs experience than 1-2 good and the rest being slop.
Look, nobody is saying you specifically can't like pizza hut, right? But if you claim pizza hut is better than a pizza baked by an actual italian chef in a classic and traditional way, then you just have to accept you objectively have bad taste/low standards. I don't think i have to spell it out but The Bunker is definitely the american pizza.
Not enjoyable at all.
The exploration and fear factor kept me interested in the very beggining but after seeing how the monster behave and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rats I just had enough.
